Xolobeni – Mining and the betrayal of the Land and People of South Africa

The activities of the ANC led South African government recently seem like a resurgence of the behavior of the Apartheid regime especially in relation to mining. The assassinations and attacks against rural people must end.

Lawyer for the pro-mining group Unathi Ximbi is still assisting Transworld Energy and Mineral Resources’ who would render Xolobeni a toxic dead wasteland for the benefit of politically connected and corrupt. On the 26th of November 2018 another community activist working with the Amadiba Crisis Committee was murdered (see this article). There has been no justice and little fanfare. But the government media SABCNews has published a story about threats made in response to the latest coercion of the people.

People living in South Africa have been shocked by the use of SAPS to physically attack the Xolobeni community. Disturbing scenes from the latest meeting forced on the community by Mineral Resource Minister Gwede Mantashe:
